Wakes you with light, not noise
Four light bars build a sunrise over 30 minutes instead of an alarm going off. At bedtime they fade red to amber to off, and red light at night doesn't suppress melatonin.
Covers the noise that wakes you
Six sounds included: white, pink and brown noise generated live so they never loop, plus rain, thunderstorm and ocean. A built-in microphone listens to the room and raises the masking level when it gets louder outside, so a car at 3am doesn't reach you.
Tells the time, then disappears
The time sits behind a smoked acrylic panel, readable from bed, and vanishes completely when the screen is off.

MODE sets the fan to auto, on or off. SOUND picks your noise. That's the whole interface, and most people never touch it again.
It runs the night for you
Temperature, light and sound adjust on their own until morning. If you want to see trends or change the schedule, Nova One serves its own settings page over your home WiFi. That's optional, and nothing is ever uploaded anywhere.

When will Nova One ship?
We're still finishing development and don't have a fixed ship date yet. Reserving a spot means we'll email you the moment that changes.
Does reserving cost anything?
No. Reserving your spot doesn't charge any payment today. We'll reach out before anything is ever charged.
Do I need an app?
No, and there isn't one. Nova One runs from two buttons on the front. If you want charts or a different schedule, the device serves its own settings page over your home WiFi, which you open in a normal browser. Nothing to install.
Does it need WiFi?
No. WiFi is optional and only used for the settings page on your home network. Without it, Nova One still runs the fan, light and sound exactly the same, and a battery-backed clock keeps the time.
Is there a subscription?
Not for the device itself. Everything Nova One physically does is yours when you buy it: the fan, the sunrise, all six sounds, the alarms, the clock and your recent history. None of it is ever paywalled or taken away.
There is an optional Pro plan at $5.99 a month, or $49 a year, planned for when Nova One ships. It adds nightly Sleep Reports, full history with spreadsheet export, and unlimited alarms and scenes. You never need it to use the device you bought.
What is a Sleep Report?
A short written summary of what happened in your room overnight: roughly when it went quiet, every noise that disturbed it and how loud it was, how long there was snoring, and how temperature and humidity moved across the night. Over weeks it points out patterns, like your worst nights all being above a certain temperature.
It's about the room, and the things you can actually change about it.
Does it track sleep stages like REM and deep sleep?
No, and we won't claim it does. Nova One measures the room, using a microphone and a temperature and humidity sensor. It doesn't touch you, and nothing in it can measure brain activity or heart rate, which is what sleep staging actually requires. Nova One is not a medical device and isn't meant to diagnose anything.
What happens to my data?
Your readings are recorded and kept on the device in your house, not uploaded to us. If you subscribe to Pro, the device periodically checks that the subscription is still active, which is the only thing that leaves your home network. Your sleep data isn't part of that check.
How loud is it?
The fan is a quiet 120mm model chosen for bedroom use, and it runs at low speed most of the night. The noise it plays is deliberate and the level is yours to set, so it should be the loudest thing you hear from it.
What happens in a power cut?
Nova One runs on mains power, so the fan, light and sound stop until power returns. A small backup battery keeps the clock accurate, so when the power comes back it picks your schedule up where it left off instead of asking you to set the time again.
What does Nova One actually sense?
Room temperature, humidity and noise level. It uses temperature to run the fan and noise to decide how much masking you need. It records nothing else, and there is no camera and no recording of what's said in the room.
Can I cancel my reservation?
Yes, anytime, for any reason. Email hello@shopnovalis.com and it's cancelled. Nothing is charged when you reserve, so there's nothing to refund.
